CANDELEDA, Garden of Europe (Touristics Initiatives Center)

Besides of being the highest affected village, now and through the history, when it was thougthful created a reserve for the "CAPRA HISPANICA" , in Gredos (1905 /1911), it is also the "great door", undoubtly, of the "REGIONAL PARK OF GREDOS", where the visitor can contemplate the "TREASURE AND ALIVE MUSEUM", that is given by preservation of its FAUNA and FLORA, so rich, exquisited and plenty of protected animals, like the "Cabra Montés"^53Kb., attraction and talisman of Gredos.

T he frondage of its woods^43Kb. (thanks to repoblation, respect and autoctone trees improvement). With its excellence and unlimited charm, eight fluvial river basins, river branches of Tajo, give Candeleda progress and development.

Because of the privileged placement and "microcIime" Candeleda enjoys itself with beautiful palm and orange-trees; Capra Hispanica's reserve, coveted peaks for alpinists and climbers.; fountains, rivers and ravines of pure and cristalline waters, wich satisfy the thirst and water the countryside. Candeleda disposes of small balnearies natural pools and the "Rosarito pond" in Tietar river, like a huge beach where you can practice fishing, water-sports and curing rheumatism or having semithermal baths.

Crystal waters and sun; snow, alpinism and climbing; open-air competitions and recreationals, sailing, water-sky and diving. HUNTING AND FISHING are properly regulated and controlled. Camping and trekking, camps and youth hostels, equestrian routes, cycling-tours and polo. Microlight flying, hand-glider and parapente. Moments of spiritual relax, quietness and culture. Going out, having something to drink or "chateo". Country fests and brave bulls. Living together with the nature own limits, its crops and farming-livestock productions and landicrafts. Nature and environment give Candeleda its FAUNA and FLORA direct and alive, like a God blessing.
